The Payroll Assistant is responsible for accurately entering and processing employee hours based on timesheets submitted by field teams. This role involves verifying timesheet data to ensure completeness and accuracy while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. The Payroll Assistant must maintain meticulous records, resolve any discrepancies or issues related to timesheet entries, and ensure compliance with labor laws and wage regulations. Effective communication with field supervisors and employees is essential to address and resolve discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, proficiency in payroll software, and the ability to manage payroll data accurately and efficiently.

Routine Job Functions:

  • Verify timesheets, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and record this information in designated records.
  • Compute wages and deductions and enter the data into the payroll system.
  • Process timesheets and input employee information into the payroll system.
  • Review timesheets, hours reported, wage computations, and other relevant information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
  • Collect timesheets for each pay period.
  • Issue and record pay adjustments related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
  • Compile employee time, names, employee numbers, and payroll data from timesheets and other records.
  • Post relevant work hours to client files to ensure accurate billing.
  • Perform duties as assigned.
