Overview
We are currently seeking a Payroll/Benefits/Human Resources Specialist for the Accounting and Human Resources Department at Vulcan Steel Products. This position will play an important role in processing payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and building a strong employer brand to ensure we attract, hire, and retain the most qualified employees.. This position includes frequent interaction with employees, management, and corporate regarding benefit and payroll issues. The position will report to the Accounting Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll weekly for 250 employees
- Administer company benefits programs
- Serve as the main point of contact for applicants
- Post job openings in applicant tracking system and maintain candidate pool in system
- Conduct pre-employment assessments with applicants
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a business or human resources related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll or HR-related position
- Payroll or HR certification (CPP, PHR, SPHR) preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with UKG software (UKG Pro, UKG WFM Pro) preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Some local travel
