Performs payroll data processing functions in accordance with institutional policies and state and federal regulations. Reviews and approves or rejects electronic personnel action forms based on transaction specific checklists for OSU and A&Ms, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely completion. Manages highly confidential employee and compensation data, ensuring compliance with data privacy, retention, and audit standards. Maintains employee job end dates in Banner. Provides guidance and information to employees, departments, and payroll staff, and supports audit and reporting requirements as needed. Maintains knowledge of payroll deadlines and schedules.
Two years of general office/clerical experience.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Strong data entry skills. Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team. Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of personalities and skill levels. Ability to recognize when documentation should be created or requested. Ability to multi-task and prioritize job responsibilities. Typing: 35 CWPM Ten-key ability
Computer training or training related to Payroll.
One year or more of experience working with Payroll and/or payroll processing. Knowledge of Banner HR EPAFs. General knowledge of Payroll Services forms and guides.
