Job Summary

Joseph Buick GMC is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and organized Payroll Clerk to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for processing employee payroll accurately and on time while maintaining payroll records, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting various accounting and administrative functions.

The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Review timecards, commissions, bonuses, and payroll adjustments
  • Verify payroll calculations and employee earnings
  • Maintain employee payroll records and personnel documentation
  • Assist with onboarding paperwork and payroll setup for new hires
  • Process payroll deductions, benefits, garnishments, and taxes
  • Generate payroll reports for management
  • Assist with month-end accounting tasks and reconciliations
  • Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and confidentially
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll policies

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred

  • Payroll processing experience
  • Automotive dealership experience
  • Accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with Dealertrack, Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK, ADP, or similar payroll systems
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
