Our client, a manufacturing company, is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join their Austin operations on a contract basis. This role supports the processing of biweekly payroll for a multi-site hourly and salaried workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state wage regulations.
The Payroll Coordinator will work closely with HR and finance teams to reconcile timekeeping data, resolve discrepancies, and respond to employee payroll inquiries. This position requires familiarity with payroll systems and a solid understanding of wage and hour laws.
This is a full-time, on-site contract engagement based at the company's Austin office, with potential for extension based on business needs and performance.
Responsibilities
Process biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Reconcile timekeeping records against payroll system entries
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholdings
Prepare payroll reports for finance and HR leadership
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage regulations
Support year-end payroll processes including W-2 preparation
Maintain accurate employee payroll records and documentation
Coordinate with HR on new hire, termination, and status change entries
Requirements
2 or more years of payroll processing experience
Working knowledge of payroll software such as ADP or Paycom
Understanding of federal and Texas wage and hour laws
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and formulas
Ability to handle confidential employee information appropriately
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
