Title: Payroll & HR Specialist

Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000

Position Overview

A growing Phoenix-based organization is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll administration through timecard validation, payroll audits, and employee data verification. This role will work closely with supervisors, employees, Human Resources, and Payroll to ensure accurate timekeeping records and compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy is critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify employee timecards for accuracy prior to payroll processing.
  • Audit timekeeping records to identify missed punches, scheduling discrepancies, overtime exceptions, and coding errors.
  • Communicate with managers and employees to resolve timecard issues and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Process employment, payroll, and income verification requests.
  • Maintain employee records and payroll-related documentation.
  • Support onboarding activities, employee status changes, and HR administrative processes.
  • Generate reports related to attendance, labor hours, and payroll exceptions.
  • Assist with compliance reporting and records retention requirements.
  • Partner with Payroll and HR teams to improve timekeeping and workforce processes.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding time reporting and payroll-related inquiries.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll, timekeeping, workforce administration, or HR support experience.
  • Experience working with time and attendance systems such as Kronos, UKG, ADP, Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in large volumes of data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
