This is an on-site position located at our Santa Ana, CA location.

How you will contribute The Payroll & HR Specialist supports our ASO client base in ensuring smooth and efficient payroll and HR operations. This role will be responsible for handling day-to-day Payroll administrative tasks including employee onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, and overall account ownership. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Payroll practices, excellent organizational skills, and a general understanding of how HR interacts with payroll.

What You'll Do Payroll Processing:

Collect and process employee time and attendance records for payroll. Coordinate with Finance/Payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Verify payroll data including bonuses, deductions, and leaves. Maintain up-to-date employee records in HRIS and ensure compliance with payroll and tax regulations.

Onboarding & Offboarding:

Coordinate all pre-employment activities including background checks, documentation, and new hire orientation. Prepare and process new hire paperwork and ensure accurate setup in HR systems. Conduct onboarding sessions to familiarize new hires with company policies, benefits, and procedures. Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews, termination documentation, and final pay coordination.

Benefits Administration:

Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing guidance and resolving issues. Enroll, update, and terminate employees in benefit programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.). Liaise with benefit vendors and brokers to ensure accurate and timely processing. Assist in annual benefits open enrollment and employee communications.

General HR Support:

Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and personnel files. Support compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws. Assist with HR reporting and audits as required. Help coordinate employee engagement and training initiatives.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of supporting clients with their payroll processing. 2+ years of success in a dedicated account ownership service model. Solid understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and payroll principles. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. CPP, FPC, PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.

Compensation The hourly pay range for this role is $31.25 - $36.00, depending upon level of experience.
