Position Title: Payroll Specialist

Location: Onsite

Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $30.11 - $38.61 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to join a busy Finance Department supporting payroll operations for approximately 2,300 employees. This position is ideal for someone with an accounting or finance background who is eager to learn, enjoys working with data, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The Payroll Specialist will work closely with Human Resources and employees to ensure accurate payroll processing, maintain payroll records, assist with Workers' Compensation administration, and respond to payroll-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll for approximately 2,300 employees.
• Enter and maintain new hire information, salary changes, and pay stipends.
• Run and submit required monthly payroll reports.
• Manage and maintain payroll records with a high degree of accuracy.
• Assist with Workers' Compensation administration and tracking.
• Research and respond to employee payroll inquiries and paycheck discrepancies.
• Partner closely with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information.
• Support additional finance and payroll projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Background in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, payroll, or a related field preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work professionally with employees who may have concerns regarding pay and benefits.

Software Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Experience with payroll, accounting, or ERP systems preferred.
• Experience with LinqERP and LinqESP is a plus; training will be provided.
