The Payroll Lead is responsible for supporting and executing Hach North America payroll operations, ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role serves as a subject matter expert and day-to-day lead for payroll processes, providing guidance to team members, driving process consistency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Compliance

- Execute end-to-end payroll processing including salaries, wages, bonuses, garnishments, benefits deductions, and taxes.

- Ensure accurate and timely payroll updates (new hires, terminations, pay changes).

- Maintain compliance with payroll laws and internal policies.

- Support SOX controls and audit requirements.

Team Leadership & Support

- Provide day-to-day guidance and act as escalation point for complex issues.

- Train new team members and support knowledge sharing.

Systems, Reporting & Data Integrity

- Maintain payroll systems (e.g., ADP) and ensure data accuracy.

- Prepare reports and partner with Finance for GL alignment.

Process Improvement

- Identify and implement process improvements and maintain SOPs.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to support payroll processes.

Qualifications

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- 5+ years payroll experience with multi-state exposure.

- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and systems (e.g., ADP).

Preferred:

- Experience in a public company environment.

- Exposure to SOX controls and audit processes.

- Experience mentoring others.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
