Cherry Bekaert is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage full-cycle payroll operations for approximately 200 employees. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a hands-on, manual payroll environment and is comfortable ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage end-to-end payroll for 200 employees
- Oversee and maintain timekeeping systems and ensure accurate data entry
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports for internal and compliance purposes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Handle payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and issue resolution
- Maintain accurate payroll records and support audits as needed
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams on payroll-related matters
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing payroll for mid-sized employee populations (~200 employees)
- Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, reporting, and compliance requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a more manual payroll environment (not fully automated)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
- Experience in the construction industry a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
