Senior Payroll Specialist (LOA Coverage)

Pay: $40.00/hour

Location: Woodland Hills (Hybrid, 1-day onsite)

Schedule: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM PT | Hybrid (1 day/week onsite, covered parking)

Duration: 3–6 months (ASAP start)

About the Role:

Our client in the wellness space is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist who will lead and execute full-cycle, multi-state payroll operations. This is a high-impact role requiring deep payroll expertise, tax knowledge, and strong cross-functional collaboration with HR and Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead biweekly, multi-state payroll processing (salaried & hourly employees)
• Review payroll data including earnings, deductions, bonuses, and retro pay
• Manage garnishments, levies, and required withholdings
• Support payroll tax reconciliations, filings, and notice resolution
• Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate system data flow
• Generate payroll reports and support audits
• Identify process improvements and drive payroll best practices

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience

• Strong multi-state payroll tax knowledge

• Paycor experience strongly preferred

• Advanced Excel skills

• High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
