Who You’ll Work With

The Payroll Manager partners closely with the Accounting and Finance teams, as well as other internal departments, to ensure accurate and compliant payroll operations.

About the Position

The Payroll Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and executing all aspects of payroll processing for the organization. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information in a fast-paced environment. The role also supports broader accounting functions and contributes to process improvement initiatives.

 

How You’ll Make a Difference

  • Manage and process payroll accurately and on time, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensure proper setup and maintenance of payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes
  • Maintain accurate payroll reports and documentation for internal use and audits
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations
  • Lead payroll audits by preparing and providing required documentation
  • Collaborate with Accounting on reconciliations and financial reporting related to payroll
  • Identify and implement improvements to payroll systems, processes, and internal controls
  • Support additional accounting-related tasks as needed (e.g., reporting, data analysis)
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and financial information
 

Position Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, including tax compliance, reporting, and internal controls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and payroll software systems
  • Experience with Vista/Viewpoint or similar systems preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of payroll or related accounting experience required
 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
  • Ability to maintain focus and accuracy when working with detailed data
  • Normal or corrected vision and hearing
