What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll lead payroll operations and serve as a key point of coordination between internal teams and an external payroll provider. You’ll help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting compliance, reporting, vendor management, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing in partnership with an outsourced provider
• Manage payroll schedules, deductions, adjustments, and issue resolution
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies with care and urgency
• Partner with Finance and Accounting to support reporting and reconciliation
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Support tax filings, year-end activities, and required reporting
• Act as a go-to resource for employees, HR, and plant leadership on payroll matters
• Supervise or support payroll staff and provide coaching as needed
• Analyze payroll data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Manage vendor performance and help maintain service-level expectations
• Support payroll-related projects, including system upgrades and implementations

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in payroll coordination and HR data management
• Strong experience with ADP and third-party payroll providers
• Working knowledge of Workday, ADP Lyric, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail and a high sense of ownership
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment

Preferred Background

• Payroll certification such as CPP
• HR certification such as PHR or SPHR
• Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or similarly complex business environments
• Experience with HRIS integrations, reporting, and process improvement
