General Summary Review, calculate and audit payroll transactions for assigned payrolls. |
Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Calculate per pay amounts over the required number of payments left in the semester for entry in the system.
- Analyze and correct processing errors prior to the transmission of payroll to ensure accurate payments.
- Audit any changes entered in the payroll system.
- Calculate and process retro payments.
- Analyze payroll data received from other departments to determine the necessary steps that ensure an accurate payroll for the University.
- Process off-cycle requests.
- Calculate payouts for severance, sick and vacation.Perform liaison functions with other business offices to facilitate problem solving.
- Provide assistance to faculty and staff member with questions regarding payroll checks.
- Prepare posting information to transfer expenses for all account and appointment changes.
- Works closely with all levels within the organization as needed.
- Perform related Departmental duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: A combination of education and experience typically acquired by completion of a Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or related field. Three years of previous payroll processing experience within the last 5 years is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. |
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Higher Education is desired A Certified Payroll Professional is desirable. Knowledge of Microsoft Access or Crystal report software is desirable. Special Instructions: N/A |
