Responsibilities:
The contractor will provide subject-matter expertise to ensure that all US payroll processes, systems, and controls comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and internal compliance policies. This role will work closely with the Human Capital Management Project ,Payroll Operations, Finance, and Internal Audit teams to assess, remediate, and document control effectiveness as we transition to our new payroll technology.
-Identify, assess, and document key controls related to payroll
-Stand up control testing
-Develop and maintain control narratives, flowcharts and control matrices for audit evidence
-Recommend and implement remediation actions for control deficiencies; track remediation status
-Document and provide guidance on payroll system changes to ensure SOX compliance is embedded in design
-Assist in risk assessments and updating of SOX control framework
-Deliver training and awareness sessions to payroll staff on control responsibilities and documentation standards
-Assist in preparing status reports and dashboards for senior leadership and compliance lead"

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of payroll operations experience in a US based organization, 3+ years of direct SOX testing experience, preferably within Payroll or HRIS
Proficiency with payroll systems - SAP Employee Central Payroll, SAP Employee Central, Strong excel/Power Query abilities
Proficiency in internal controls, Sarbanes Oxley
Demonstrated problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey complex issues to non-technical audiences
Demonstrated knowledge of Payroll principles & processes

Desired skills :
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
Strong SAP Employee Central systems experience
Experience with DCMA, DCAA, Internal-Auditing, and SAP Payroll compliance
Previous leadership experience
Strong Advanced MS Excel skills with proficiencies in using Excel related capabilities to build and automate data.
Demonstrated staff level accounting skills confirmed through related work experience.
