Trident Consulting is currently seeking a " Payroll Specialist " for one of our industry-leading clients.

Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Aliso Viejo, CA (100% Onsite, 5 Days/Week)
Type: Contract
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $48/hr W2

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage multi-state U.S. payroll operations and support international payroll activities. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll processing experience, knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, payroll journal entries, W-2 processing, and compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process multi-state U.S. payroll using outsourced payroll systems
  • Maintain employee payroll records and personnel changes
  • Manage payroll taxes, garnishments, 401(k), and stock purchase plan deductions
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support international payroll coordination
  • Assist with audits, SOX compliance, and workers' compensation reporting
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Experience with multi-state payroll
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, and payroll compliance
  • Exposure to general ledger and journal entries
  • Strong Excel and ERP system knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
