Join Our Team as a Payroll Specialist!
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 1,000 employees across multiple states. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintains payroll records, and provides exceptional support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and confident in managing complex payroll operations.
Salary Range: $65k-$75k
As a Payroll Specialist, you will:
- Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
- Calculate wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions in compliance with applicable laws.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax reports and payments.
- Manage payroll documentation such as timesheets, direct deposit forms, and tax forms.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and discrepancies.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports for management and finance teams.
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to payroll expenses.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with IT or external vendors to resolve system issues and implement upgrades.
- Can collaborate effectively cross-functionally and within the department.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience.
- Experience with KRONOS required.
- Minimum 3 years of advanced Excel usage.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
- Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paychex, SAP) preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
