About the Role: Payroll Specialist

We’re partnering with a growing organization seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Payroll & HRIS Manager to ensure smooth, accurate, and compliant payroll operations across multiple states, with a strong emphasis on hourly payroll.

This position plays a key role in supporting payroll processes, compliance, reporting, and employee inquiries, while collaborating cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams.

Responsibilities: Payroll Specialist

• 
  
• Process multi-state payrolls including hourly, bonuses, commissions, incentives, and off-cycle runs
• 
  
• Manage payroll-related updates such as deductions, garnishments, and direct deposit changes
• 
  
• Review and validate timekeeping data using UKG Workforce Management
• 
  
• Assist with 401(k) contributions, payroll integrations, reconciliations, and funding activities
• 
  
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, and assist with audits and compliance reporting
• 
  
• Maintain and enhance payroll procedures, documentation, and process efficiencies
• 
  
• Serve as a resource for employees and managers on payroll-related questions
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications: Payroll Specialist

• 
  
• Strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance requirements
• 
  
• Experience with payroll systems (UKG is a plus), as well as Excel and reconciliations
• 
  
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to manage competing priorities
