The Payroll Specialist supports accurate and timely payroll processing while providing excellent customer service to employees. This role is responsible for completing pre- and post-payroll activities, reviewing payroll and timekeeping data for accuracy, and helping ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review payroll data for multi-state payroll processing.
  • Review and reconcile timekeeping data to ensure completeness prior to payroll submission.
  • Track, prepare, and reconcile payroll additions/adjustments for biweekly payroll.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assist with data collection for various external audits and ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding pay and payroll-related company policy.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and protect confidential employee information.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 1 to 1 years of related experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent in education, or equivalent combination of high school courses and related work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Familiarity of payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Workday)
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in handling paperwork and data entry.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity of payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Workday)
  • 1+ years of experience in payroll or similar role preferred
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with service-oriented mindset

Salary compensation range and midpoint:

$52,000 - $65,000 - $78,000 Annual
