Payroll Specialist

LHH is working with an established, stable company to identify a Payroll Specialist for their team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of prevailing wage processes and have at least five years of payroll experience. You will join a collaborative, friendly team where processes are already established. This person will coordinate with different departments and will respond to employee inquiries so professional communication skills are important. This position offers a quick interview process and free parking for a fully onsite position in Bellevue, WA.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly, multi-state payroll for employees.
• Administer prevailing wage payroll, including certified payroll reporting, wage determinations, fringe benefits, compliance tracking, and audits.
• Maintain payroll records, general ledger accuracy, and employee payroll data.
• Handle garnishments, reimbursement payments, benefit deductions, and 401(k) administration.
• Perform payroll audits, generate reports, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Support employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and onboarding.
• Assist with HR compliance, employee relations, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Five or more years of payroll experience required.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll and prevailing wage.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, payroll accounting, and employment law compliance.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
