Compiles payroll data to administer payroll and maintain payroll records on a perfectly accurate and timely basis by performing the following duties personally. Responsible for ensuring that all critical tasks are fulfilled on a timely basis.
Critical Tasks:
Accurately processes employee work time records and compiles payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance deductions to be withheld, and employee identification number, from time records.
Accurately processes all payroll tax payments to government authorities.
Prepares computer input forms, enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
Maintains fully accurate Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services payroll journal.
Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments.
Enters and updates employee banking information for direct deposit purposes.
Prorates expenses to be debited or credited to each department for cost accounting records.
Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
Keeps records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
Prepares and issues paychecks.
Answers employee payroll questions while ensuring that employees clearly understand payroll subjects and the enterprise/employee necessity to comply with all local, state and federal payroll regulations.
Assists with employment verifications and community housing reservations.
Maintains employee payroll files.
Assists with community resident trust fund accounting.
Ensures that all payroll activities and entries are accurate and that all payroll actions are completed on a timely basis.
Prepare quarterly IRS Form 941, Arizona Department of Revenue Quarterly Payroll, and Arizona Department of Employment Security reports.
Prepares year-end W2's and reconciles those to federal 941's.
Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish all tasks despite frequent interruptions.
Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, while performing all essential functions.
Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
1 year of experience in a payroll processing role.
Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures.
Employment at the Caring House requires: AZ Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card.
