Payroll Specialist (Mid-Level)

Payroll City is a growing, locally owned payroll services company seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. What You'll Do:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will manage payroll processing for a diverse client base while delivering exceptional customer service. You'll work independently in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where accuracy, organization, and attention to detail are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately using proprietary payroll software.
- Enter, review, and verify payroll information for accuracy.
- Provide payroll software support and outstanding customer service.
- Manage payroll tax deposits for multiple states.
- Prepare Excel spreadsheets for reconciliations and custom reports.
- Process new hire reporting.
- Reconcile and file federal, state, and local payroll tax reports.
- Communicate professionally with clients, coworkers, and federal and state tax agencies.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and tax-related issues.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Payroll processing experience, including employee benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks.
- Experience using multiple payroll software platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Preferred:
- Accounting experience
- Experience processing multi-state payroll.
