We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have a Payroll Specialist. Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and has extensive multi-state payroll experience.

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll for approximately 440 employees across multiple states. This individual must have strong knowledge of ADP payroll systems and experience processing both weekly and bi-weekly payrolls while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Your specific duties will include:

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll for approximately 440 employees.
  • Utilize ADP to accurately process payroll, review payroll reports, and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, garnishments, direct deposits, and tax withholdings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Process payroll adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and off-cycle payrolls as needed.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and general ledger information.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions regarding earnings, deductions, taxes, PTO, and benefits.
  • Coordinate payroll processing with HR and Accounting to ensure data accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation and payroll audits.

Required qualifications for the position include:

  • 3+ years of high-volume payroll processing experience required.
  • Experience processing payroll for 400+ employees preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ADP is REQUIRED.
  • Experience processing both weekly and bi-weekly payrolls is REQUIRED.
  • Strong experience with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Working knowledge of payroll tax regulations, garnishments, and wage laws.

Preferred qualifications for the position include:

  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
  • Experience supporting payroll within a multi-location organization.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and timekeeping systems.
Pay Rate Range: $35.00 - 45.00/hr

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
