HumanHire is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join on of our clients in the construction industry. Located in the Stony Brook, NY area, this role will be responsible for processing manual payroll for union and non-union employees across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of previous payroll processing experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to own a task and follow it through to completion.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process payroll for union and non-union employees within the organization
- Update and maintain payroll information in Sage/Timberline
- Prepare accurate payroll tax returns
- Reconcile payroll accounts
- Provide payroll information to upper management
- Address payroll inquiries from union and non-union employees
- Process any necessary corrections/ adjustments
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience processing manual payroll
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, lookups, counts a must!)
- Knowledge of the Sage/Timberline system is preferred
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Professional attitude and high level of customer service
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
