Position SummaryThe Payroll Specialist ensures accurate, timely payroll processing and dependable employee support. This role safeguards data integrity, maintains payroll records, and helps ensure compliance with applicable requirements.Key responsibilities include preparing and processing payroll, verifying time and attendance inputs, maintaining employee payroll files, responding to payroll-related inquiries, and producing routine payroll reports. The Payroll Specialist will use specialized payroll and HR software as well as Microsoft Office tools—particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.Required qualifications/skills:- Basic computer skills with strong attention to detail- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)- Professional customer relations and clear written communication- Ability and willingness to learn - Extensive training is provided Benefits Package:CBI Business Services offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; a 401(k) plan; Life Insurance; Long Term Disability; a Flexible Spending Account (FSA); and Paid Time Off (PTO).Typical WorkdayYou will begin the morning reviewing payroll calendars and organizing priorities for the week. Throughout the day, you will switch between focused desk work and responsive communication—checking messages, clarifying details with client contacts, and keeping documentation current. You will communicate with clients throughout the day via phone and email. The schedule is onsite in Fargo, Monday–Thursday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with a Friday half-day (8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.).
