Description

Kforce is partnering with a well-established and growing company in the Greater Saint Louis, MO area to identify a Payroll Specialist. Summary: This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable organization with a collaborative team environment where you'll play a key role in processing payroll, ensuring compliance, and supporting accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and exceptional attention to detail. This is a fully onsite position offering the opportunity to make an immediate impact while continuing to grow your career with a respected employer. Key Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly union payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable wage and labor regulations
  • Review payroll data, audit time records, and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll processing
  • Reconcile payroll activity to the general ledger and support payroll-related accounting functions
  • Prepare, remit, and reconcile federal, state, and local payroll tax payments, as well as complete required quarterly tax filings
  • Coordinate direct deposit processing and year-end payroll activities, including preparation and distribution of employee tax documents
  • Prepare recurring reports for labor organizations and regulatory agencies, ensuring timely submission of required payroll and hours-worked information
  • Administer payroll deductions, including garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other wage attachments
  • Reconcile employee benefit and fringe-related payroll items
  • Generate recurring payroll and compliance reports to support internal operations and management
  • Provide additional accounting and administrative support to the finance team as needed

Requirements:

  • Three or more years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume or complex payroll environment
  • Working knowledge of payroll processing, payroll tax regulations, and general accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong overall computer skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve payroll issues efficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the organization
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting union payroll and prevailing wage requirements is highly preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
