Bavarian Inn Restaurant is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Accounting Team. This role offers the opportunity to go beyond processing weekly payroll. Pay & Schedule
- Full-Time with Comprehensive Benefits
- $23.00-$25.00 per Hour (Based on Experience)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime hours (typically 8am or 9am–5pm)
What You'll Be Doing
As our Payroll Specialist, you'll play a key role in the success of our payroll operations by combining accurate payroll processing with reporting, analytics, compliance, and continuous process improvement. You'll work closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and department leaders to help ensure accurate payroll while producing meaningful reporting.
Responsibilities include:
- Process weekly in-house payroll from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Review timecards, audit payroll information, and partner with managers to resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
- Maintain payroll records, including wage changes, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and other payroll-related information.
- Prepare payroll reports, labor analytics, reconciliations, audit documentation, and recurring management reports.
- Research and respond to questions regarding payroll, tax, and timekeeping while providing exceptional customer service.
- Support payroll tax, retirement, benefit, and compliance-related activities, while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Analyze payroll data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Controller, Human Resources, and Accounting to support payroll operations and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications:
- 5 years minimum experience performing in-house payroll; hospitality industry is a plus!
- Associate Degree in Accounting or related field required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Time & attendance software experience required; Netchex experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and financial skills required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain seated/stationary while operating a computer for prolonged periods
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
