A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of payroll processing, compliance, and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll for a high-volume employee population
Review and audit payroll data for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and direct deposits
Maintain employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Process garnishments, child support orders, wage assignments, and tax levies
Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Respond to employee payroll-related questions and provide exceptional customer service
Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and year-end activities including W-2 preparation
Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams regarding employee changes, benefits, and payroll adjustments
Support continuous process improvements and payroll system enhancements
Qualifications
3+ years of payroll processing experience
Experience supporting multi-state payroll preferred
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP, UKG, Workday, Paychex, Ceridian, or similar systems
High attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines
Pay Details: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour
