Position: Payroll Specialist (Part-Time) Location: NE Portland, OR Job Type: Contract to Hire, Fully onsite, Part-Time (25 hours a week, 5 hours a day, flexible hours within the 8-5pm work day) Compensation: $30-$37 an hour We havean exciting opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our client in NE Portland, OR. As an ideal candidate, you should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in full cycle payroll as well as payroll processing experience (over 100+ employees). Responsibilities:
  • Managing full cycle payroll in a team for a small-size company (100+)
  • Maintain and verify the accuracy of all employees and payroll data within the payroll system.
  • Safeguard sensitive employee information and uphold strict confidentiality standards.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support year-end payroll functions, including tax filings and reporting (e.g., W-2s, union reports).
  • Assist the HR department with key functions such as recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee terminations.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support the payroll and HR functions.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience handling payroll, including payroll for at least 100 employees.
  • Healthcare industry background is preferred. (Not required)
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
