Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a prominent Business Services organization located in the St Paul area needcing to add to their payroll team!

Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including wages, deductions, and tax information
  • Review and validate timekeeping data, PTO, bonuses, and commissions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations
  • Calculate and process garnishments, benefits deductions, and payroll taxes
  • Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Partner with HR and Accounting teams to ensure accurate employee data and reporting
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions
  • Prepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other payroll-related documents
  • Support audits and maintain internal controls related to payroll processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and system efficiency

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience (high-volume preferred)
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, Ceridian, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
