Payroll Specialist – Temp-to-Hire Location: San Dimas, CA Schedule: Hybrid after training Pay: Up to $40/hour Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a temp to hire position. Must have strong Excel skills and 3+ years of payroll processing experience. This position will support payroll processing, reconciliations, payroll accounting, tax reporting, and compliance.
What You’ll Do:
Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll and maintaining employee payroll records
Review payroll reports for accuracy and make necessary corrections
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate final reports
Prepare and process payroll journal entries
Review timesheets, attendance records, and payroll interfaces
Process manual checks as needed
Review garnishment calculations and compliance
Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits
Assist with bi-weekly payroll tax submissions
Support quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
Review year-end W-2s and wage reconciliations
Monitor payroll workflow to ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time
What We’re Looking For:
Strong hands-on payroll processing experience
Experience reviewing and reconciling payroll reports
Knowledge of federal and state wage and payroll regulations
Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, W-2s, and payroll journal entries
Strong accounting and reconciliation skills
Advanced Excel skills required, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information
