This job processes the biweekly payroll of all non-management employees. Handles all payroll office functions in the absence of the manager. Ensures that essential information is communicated to payroll leadership.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
Required - High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred - Bachelors degree.
Work Experience Required - 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll systems and processing or an accounting setting; OR 1 year of payroll experience with a bachelor's degree.

Job Duties
Runs computer payroll programs and subroutines to process biweekly payroll for non-management employees. Initiates time and attendance processes and follows through to completion. Enters all adjustments in Lawson, maintains graduate medical education and research standard time records.
Completes or responds to verifications of employment from various lending institutions, local agencies, or other organizations and completes unemployment fraud reports, etc.
Creates and initiates transfer of direct deposit file and federal and FICA taxes. Initiates and follows through with printing, sealing, sorting, distributing and mailing of checks, receipts and W2s.
Advises employees on matters related to payroll policies and procedures, including clarifications on earnings, withholding and other deductions. Prepares manual checks, stops payment notices, and files and makes copies of payment records for various departments.
Performs other related duties as required.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
