Payroll Specialist

Location: South Bend, IN
Salary: $58,000 - $68,000 (Depending on Experience)

Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,800 employees. This role will serve as the primary payroll contact and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. Experience with Paylocity is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• 
  
• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,800 employees
• 
  
• Review and audit employee timecards for accuracy and approval
• 
  
• Enter retroactive pay adjustments, bonuses, PTO payouts, and employee terminations
• 
  
• Coordinate payroll review and approval activities with HR and Recruiting teams
• 
  
• Submit payroll accurately and on schedule
• 
  
• Manage payroll garnishments and complete required documentation and interrogatories
• 
  
• Ensure compliance with payroll laws, regulations, and company policies
• 
  
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
• 
  
• Assist with invoice entry and deposit matching as workload permits
• 
  
• Maintain confidential payroll and employee information
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• 3+ years of payroll processing experience
• 
  
• Experience processing high-volume payroll
• 
  
• Paylocity experience strongly preferred
• 
  
• Knowledge of garnishments, payroll adjustments, and payroll compliance requirements
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• 
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll systems
• 
  
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
• 
  

Schedule

• 
  
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• 
  
• Bi-weekly payroll schedule
• 
  
• Longer days typically required on Monday and Tuesday of payroll weeks
• 
  
• Flexible scheduling later in the payroll week to maintain a 40-hour workweek
• 
  
• Initial training will be provided remotely via Microsoft Teams
•
