Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for ~120 employees, including hourly, salaried, and overtime-eligible staff
- Accurately calculate overtime, shift differentials, on-call pay, travel time, commissions, bonuses, and prevailing wage where applicable
- Review and validate timecards submitted by field technicians and service teams
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
- Manage payroll deductions including benefits, garnishments, and taxes
- Maintain employee payroll records, rate changes, and job costing data
- Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, status changes, and benefits deductions
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing and audits
- Respond to employee payroll questions and provide excellent internal customer service
- Assist with workers’ compensation reporting, union reporting (if applicable), and labor audits
- Partner with accounting to ensure accurate general ledger postings
