Payroll Specialist


Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Salary Range: $50,000-$56,000 (Depending on Experience)

We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 500 employees using a payroll system (Paylocity or similar).

  • Review and audit employee timecards to ensure accuracy prior to payroll processing.

  • Follow up with managers to resolve missing approvals, timecard discrepancies, and payroll exceptions before payroll deadlines.

  • Ensure weekly payroll is finalized and submitted on schedule.

  • Review commission reports and coordinate with managers to resolve discrepancies prior to payroll processing.

  • Process employee garnishments and maintain accurate payroll deductions.

  • Assist with employee licensing documentation and maintain required payroll-related records.

  • Process payroll paperwork, employee changes, and other payroll documentation.

  • Respond to employee and manager payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

  • Perform other payroll and administrative duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • 1–5+ years of payroll processing experience.

  • Experience using a payroll system such as Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, or a similar HRIS/payroll platform.

  • Experience processing high-volume, multi-employee payroll is a plus

  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with existing spreadsheets.

  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
