Payroll Specialist

Role: Payroll Specialist 
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85012 
Setting: 99% remote - in office the first week for training & occasional site visits depending on workload
Training: 1st week on site 
Duration: Contract to cover a FMLA
Pay: $22-24/hour 
Hours: M-F 7:30am-4:30pm 


What You'll Bring to the Table:

• 5+ years of payroll experience with a large company.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations at federal, state, and local levels, including overtime and wage limits.
• Proficiency in Excel, including PivotTables and V-lookups, for data analysis and reporting.
• Solid understanding of payroll tax laws and experience calculating and processing complex payroll scenarios.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with Ceridian payroll systems such as Dayforce and VantagePoint
• Knowledge of prevailing wage schedules for government projects.
• Experience processing certified payroll, including labor adjustments and wage verifications.
• Familiarity with E-Verify and garnishment processing.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be a Phoenix-based candidate.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
• Willingness to handle occasional site visits and participate in virtual interviews.
