We are looking for an energetic, positive individual to work as a Payroll Specialist at our company headquarters in San Luis Obispo. This is an on-site, in-person role and is not eligible for remote work.

 

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. They support employees and leaders by providing excellent customer service and helping our payroll operations run efficiently, in compliance with applicable requirements. This is a regular full-time position. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain payroll systems and software to support business operations and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and international regulations.
  • Collect, validate, and process payroll data for domestic and international payrolls in accordance with established payroll schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll and related data across all applicable payroll systems.
  • Ensure payroll processing, data management, and record retention comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Department to prepare, update, and maintain employment contracts and related payroll documentation for international employees.
  • Generate payroll reports and assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, and related requests, as needed.
  • Provide professional and responsive support to employees and management regarding payroll-related inquiries while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

 

Requirements: 

  • An associate’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of payroll experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Dayforce payroll platform is preferred, or experience with multiple payroll software platforms, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • trong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to follow set procedures, work independently, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment screening and clearances.
  • Must sign Lindamood-Bell’s Confidentiality Agreement. 

 

Compensation: 

The hourly rate for this position is $28 - $34 per hour.
