Description

Position Description:

The payroll specialist works with payroll, human resources and operations team members to process payrolls within assigned schedules. The primary responsibility is to process payroll accurately and provide excellent customer service to our employees. This position requires an extremely detail-orientated person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

·         Enter, maintain, and/or process information in the payroll system.

·         Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.

·         Audit payroll information for accuracy.

·         Research and resolve employee pay related issues.

·         Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.

·         Compile internal management reports from payroll and accounting systems.

·         Participate in problem solving and special projects with the Accounting Department.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables

·         Ability to identify and implement automation opportunities.

·         Solid data manipulation and visualization skills.

·         Ability to support internal and external audits with strong knowledge of internal controls and audit readiness.

·         Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

·         Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

·         Time management

·         Experience with systems like Group Dynamics or Workday preferred
