THE OPPORTUNITY

A premier food manufacturer in Scranton, PA is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support accurate, timely payroll processing for both union and non-union employees. You'll work closely with HR, Operations, and Finance — applying strong technical skills in payroll systems, CBA interpretation, and data analysis to keep payroll accurate, compliant, and running smoothly.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees accurately and on time, in compliance with company policies, applicable laws, and collective bargaining agreements

Review and audit timekeeping records, attendance data, and payroll reports

Resolve payroll-related questions and issues for employees, supervisors, and internal stakeholders

Process payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes

Manage garnishments, adjustments, corrections, and other payroll transactions

Maintain payroll records and employee data with strict confidentiality and data integrity

Support year-end payroll activities, reconciliations, and reporting

Identify and recommend payroll process improvements and system enhancements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

Previous payroll, accounting, administrative, or related experience required

Experience supporting payroll in a manufacturing and/or unionized environment strongly preferred, including CBA provisions, overtime, shift premiums, and contractual pay elements

Advanced Excel proficiency (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)

Experience with ADP, Workforce Management, Kronos, UKG, or similar platforms required

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information
