Payroll Specialist
Pay: $20/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join a collaborative payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll or accounting experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You'll play an important role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting payroll compliance and continuous process improvements.
What You'll Do
- Process U.S. and Canadian payroll accurately and on schedule
- Review payroll information and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and data security
- Communicate with employees and managers regarding payroll questions
- Complete payroll reconciliations and support payroll balancing activities
- Assist with payroll tax reporting, including W-2s, T4s, Form 941, and related documentation
- Maintain payroll procedures and process documentation
- Support compliance with payroll policies and applicable regulations
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide outstanding customer service
- Contribute to process improvements and special projects as needed
What We're Looking For
- Three or more years of office, accounting, or payroll experience (payroll preferred)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Strong understanding of basic accounting and mathematical concepts
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Customer-focused with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with payroll systems or enterprise software is a plus
