Client Overview:
Our client is a well-established automotive organization with multiple locations, known for delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a strong reputation within the industry. They are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their Accounting team and support payroll operations in a fast-paced environment.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr - $24/hr

Position Overview:
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining employee payroll records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and payroll regulations. This position works closely with Human Resources and Accounting to support payroll-related functions.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:
  • Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for employees.
  • Review and verify employee timecards and attendance records.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information.
  • Calculate overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and payroll status changes.
  • Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation.
  • Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
Required Experience/Skills for the Payroll Specialist:
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, tax withholdings, and wage regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Payroll Specialist:
  • Experience in the automotive or dealership industry.
  • Familiarity with payroll software such as ADP, Paycom, UKG, or similar systems.
  • Basic accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience in processing multi-state payroll.
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.
