Our rapidly expanding construction company is seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Permanent Payroll Supervisor to manage and oversee our payroll department. This high-impact role will require you to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll system, maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, and provide exceptional service to our employees. You'll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Payroll Supervisor, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing the entire payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payment to all employees.
2. Managing and resolving any payroll-related issues or discrepancies.
3. Compiling and maintaining payroll records and reports for both internal and external purposes.
4. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
5. Coordinating with the HR department to synchronize and update employee data.
6. Supervising, mentoring, and developing payroll staff, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
7. Collaborating with management and other departments to improve payroll procedures and efficiency.
8. Staying up-to-date with developments in the payroll field, including legislation changes, trends, and best practices.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Payroll Supervisor position should have the following qualifications:
1. An associate degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll supervisory role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Extensive experience with union payroll is essential.
4. Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax procedures, and wage and hour laws.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
6. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with staff at all levels of the organization.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software.
