We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Associate I Payroll to support payroll tax operations in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on backend payroll activities after payroll processing, including payroll tax filing, tax notice resolution, and coordination with tax vendors and state agencies.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with payroll taxes, multi-state tax processing, and payroll tax filings, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and support payroll tax activities including federal, state, and FICA taxes
Handle payroll tax filings and resolve payroll tax notices
Communicate with state agencies, tax providers, and third-party vendors
Manage power of attorney documentation and third-party authorizations
Support testing activities and payroll-related projects
Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
Respond to internal payroll tickets and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Attend team meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of payroll activities
High School Diploma or GED
2 3 years of payroll tax experience
Experience with payroll tax filing and tax notice resolution
Knowledge offederal, state, and FICA taxes
Multi-state payroll tax experience
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with tax vendors and state agencies
Experience supporting payroll testing or project work
Ability to manage multiple priorities with consistency and accuracy
