A confidential organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Compliance Manager to lead payroll tax operations and support a high-volume, multi-state workforce environment. This hybrid leadership role will oversee payroll tax compliance, reporting, reconciliations, audits, and process governance while managing and developing a payroll tax team. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations along with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to compliance and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day payroll tax operations across multiple jurisdictions and legal entitiesManage and mentor a payroll tax team, ensuring service delivery, accuracy, and complianceReview and analyze payroll tax data, filings, reconciliations, and remittances for federal, state, and local agenciesEnsure timely and accurate processing of payroll tax payments and reporting obligationsOversee year-end payroll tax activities including W-2 corrections, amendments, and related compliance processesInvestigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, notices, and employee inquiriesSupport payroll tax audits and partner with internal stakeholders to provide required documentation and reportingDevelop, document, and improve payroll tax procedures, controls, and operational processesManage payroll tax reconciliations and liability reviews across business units and accountsOversee processes related to overpayments, unclaimed property/escheatment, and garnishmentsPartner cross-functionally with Payroll, HR, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to support compliance initiatives and operational improvementsAssist with system enhancements, testing, and payroll tax process optimization initiativesQualifications Minimum of 6+ years of progressive payroll tax experience within a complex, multi-state environmentBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field requiredProfessional payroll or accounting certification preferredPrior experience leading or supervising payroll tax or payroll operations teams strongly preferredStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and compliance requirementsExperience with major payroll/HRIS platforms such as ADP, Workday, SAP or similar systemsAdvanced Excel and analytical skills with the ability to manage large data sets and reconciliationsStrong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretionHybrid work environment with a combination of remote and in-office collaborationFast-paced, team-oriented corporate setting supporting a geographically distributed workforceOpportunity to contribute to operational improvements, compliance initiatives, and team leadership within a growing organization#J-18808-Ljbffr
