Location110 Franklin Road SE, Suite 300, Roanoke, VA, 24011, US (Hybrid)Essential Functions and Primary DutiesEnsure all internal controls and procedures are followed for accuracy and complianceAssist internal and external clients with requests and problems in a timely mannerMaintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax rules and regulations to ensure compliancePrepare payroll tax payments for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly depositorsFile all federal, state, and local payroll tax returns in accordance with agency specific requirementsEnter and update account numbers, unemployment rates, and deposit frequencies in both the payroll and tax systemReconciling prior to service payroll tax data for new customer to ensure we've loaded history correctlyResolve payroll tax notices with federal, state, and local tax agenciesExamine payroll records to ensure proper recording of tax transactionsIdentify, test, and support department efficiency-related processes and improvementsInput data into software within required deadlines accuratelyAdditional responsibilities as assignedPreferred Qualifications1+ year experience in multi-state payroll/taxesBasic knowledge of payroll and accountingAbility to read and interpret complex federal, state, and local policies and other written documents as it pertains to tax compliance and filing mattersMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAcute detail and accuracy skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externallyProficient use of applicable technologyAbility to work in a team environment as well as independentlyAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities and pay close attention to detail on many, varied tasksCompensation & BenefitsThe specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, geographical location, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
