Our client, a well-established organization in the construction industry, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support weekly payroll processing for a large, multi-state workforce. This role requires hands-on experience with certified payroll, prevailing wage compliance, and union payroll environments.
Responsibilities
Process weekly payroll for a large employee population, including time entry, job costing, and payroll reporting
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage and certified payroll (WH-347) requirements
Handle union and non-union payroll, including wage rates, fringes, and deductions
Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Utilize payroll systems (ADP or similar) for processing and reporting
Analyze payroll data using Excel (Pivot Tables required, VLOOKUPs preferred)
Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure audit-ready documentation
Partner with HR, Accounting, and Operations to resolve payroll and timekeeping issues
Qualifications
2+ years of construction payroll experience
Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage (REQUIRED)
Experience with union and non-union payroll (REQUIRED)
Experience supporting large payrolls (300-500+ employees)
Proficiency in ADP or similar payroll systems
Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables required, VLOOKUPs preferred)
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Stable work history preferred
Pay Details: $28.00 to $31.00 per hour
