Position Summary

The PBX & Emergency Response Operator plays a vital role in ensuring seamless communication across the hospital. In this fast-paced, high-impact position, you'll manage incoming and outgoing calls, support patients and staff with critical information, and serve as a key player in emergency response coordination. This role is ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, communicates clearly, and is passionate about delivering exceptional service while supporting patient safety.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Manage high-volume incoming and outgoing calls, routing them accurately and efficiently
  • Facilitate hospital-wide communication, including paging staff and relaying urgent messages
  • Assist patients and visitors with inquiries related to services, appointments, and general information
  • Respond to and process emergency codes, coordinating with hospital command center and key personnel
  • Accurately collect and document caller information for follow-up and reporting
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
  • Monitor and respond to critical alarms, including fire, medical gas, and cardiac alerts
  • Provide administrative support such as maintaining directories and assisting with scheduling information
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and patient privacy regulations

Qualifications - External

Your qualifications should include:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in a call center, contact center, or PBX environment
