Job Summary
Seeking an experienced PC&IS / Electrical Engineer with a strong Electrical & Instrumentation background to support process plant operations, controls, instrumentation, electrical design, commissioning, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial control systems, instrumentation, LV electrical distribution, MCCs, VFDs, PLC/SCADA systems, and plant startup activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience as an Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer developing engineering design packages for industrial/process plants.
- Experience specifying and selecting process plant instrumentation.
- Hands-on knowledge of instrumentation setup, calibration, verification, and adjustments.
- Experience with Fisher valves, Micro Motion flowmeters, Rosemount transmitters, E+H flowmeters/transmitters, and similar industrial instrumentation.
- Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley control systems, communication systems, and VFDs.
- Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems and industrial networks.
- Experience designing LV electrical distribution systems, power distribution panels, and MCCs for process plants in compliance with NEC.
- Knowledge of Machine Safety / Category 3 wiring.
- Experience with control panel design in accordance with UL 508A.
- Strong knowledge of MCCs, VFDs, electrical troubleshooting, and electrical schematics.
- Experience preparing instrument datasheets, I/O lists, instrument lists, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Previous experience with system commissioning, qualification, and validation is preferred.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work onsite as a PC&IS Engineer supporting controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems in a process plant environment.
- Troubleshoot power, controls, instrumentation, and electrical system issues and repair or replace associated components.
- Execute approved process and equipment changes, optimizations, upgrades, and improvement activities.
- Provide system ownership for assigned equipment or technology areas as required.
- Support breakdown elimination, production improvements, and troubleshooting for process and packaging systems.
- Develop electrical and instrumentation engineering designs and technical packages for industrial plant installations.
- Define project scope, coordinate with customers and engineering teams, and deliver required engineering deliverables.
- Collect and review engineering inputs from customers, vendors, construction teams, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews and coordinate required approvals.
- Support electrical construction, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Lead electrical startup activities for process and packaging equipment.
- Coordinate with electrical construction vendors and provide execution support.
- Support PC&IS activities during equipment installation, startup, commissioning, qualification, and validation.
- Participate in vendor and project meetings.
- Provide support for PC&IS component procurement and technical evaluations.
- Develop safety validation documentation and coordinate required safety approvals.
- Support after-hours troubleshooting and call-in activities as required.
