Job Description & Skill Requirement:
We are seeking a PC&IS Engineer (Controls and Instrumentation Engineer) to work onsite in a process plant environment in Kansas City. The engineer will be responsible for instrumentation, controls, electrical design, engineering deliverables, customer coordination, construction support, and startup activities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as an onsite PC&IS Engineer in a process plant environment.
  • Develop power and instrumentation installation designs and engineering packages for industrial plants.
  • Define the scope of work with the customer, coordinate with offshore teams, and deliver engineering packages.
  • Coordinate with customers to collect all required inputs for engineering design.
  • Coordinate with vendors and construction teams to obtain information required for design completion.
  • Attend design reviews with customers and construction teams and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Support construction and startup activities.
  • Lead the electrical startup of process and packaging equipment.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering.
  • Experience working as an Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer developing engineering design packages for industrial plants.
  • Strong knowledge of process plant instrumentation specification and selection.
  • Experience selecting and designing controls and hardware for process plant instrumentation monitoring and control.
  • Hands-on experience with instrument setup, calibration verification, and adjustments.
  • Experience with:
    • Fisher Valves
    • Micro Motion Flowmeters
    • Rosemount Transmitters
    • E+H Flowmeters and Transmitters
    • Rockwell Control and Communication Systems
    • Allen-Bradley VFDs
  • Prepare Instrument Datasheets, I/O Lists, Instrument Lists, Wiring Diagrams, and Engineering Information.
  • Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems for industrial networks.
  • Experience with LV Electrical Distribution Design, including:
    • Power Distribution Panels
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Process plant electrical systems compliant with NEC
  • Experience with MCCs, VFDs, electrical troubleshooting, and electrical schematics.
  • Previous experience with system commissioning and validation is a plus.
  • Trained and qualified in NFPA 70E requirements.
