Supervisor:

Assisted Living Supervisor

Shift: 11pm-7am : every other weekend

Start Date: 7/27/2026

Status: Part Time

Qualifications:

Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant for long-term care by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Previous experience in a geriatric long- term care facility preferred. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language required.

Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide the residents of the Assisted Living Residence with routine daily services in accordance with our established procedures and as may be directed by the Assisted Living Supervisor.

Functions:

Ability to follow established performance standards and perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Ability to assist new employees in following established policies and procedures.

Ability to identify special resident problems and report them to the Assisted Living Supervisor.

Ability to provide direct resident care as assigned.

Ability to conduct resident rounds as assigned.

Ability to initiate corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance from the Assisted Living Supervisor or Director of Nursing.

Ability to attend staff meetings and at least 12 hours of in-service programs per year, as assigned.

Ability to assume personal responsibility for following facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies within the Assisted Living Residence.

Ability to assume accountability for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the Assisted Living Residence and within your span of control.

Ability to report unusual problems or incidents to the Assisted Living Supervisor or Director of Nursing

Ability to document incidents and/or unusual problems in accordance with facility procedures.

Ability to participate in resident health services plan conferences and other facility meetings as assigned.

Ability to participate in the development of a health services plan as assigned.

Ability to review health service plans and perform services as outlined.

Ability to participate in and receive report upon reporting for duty.

Ability to document in the Personal Care Attendant's notes the care and treatment provided to the resident and the resident's response or lack of response to care provided.

Ability to report changes in resident condition to the Assisted Living Supervisor or Director of Nursing.

Ability to perform basic nursing services as assigned.

Ability to monitor and supervise medication administration.

Ability to respond to resident calls promptly.

Ability to serve meals, assure proper diet is served and assist residents with eating as assigned.

Ability to assist residents with toileting as assigned.

Ability to supervise and/or assist residents with bathing, dressing and grooming as assigned.

Ability to provide proper skin care to residents as assigned.

Ability to accurately weigh residents as assigned and report and/or record weights taken.

Ability to assist with lifting and transferring residents into and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, mechanical lifts, etc.

Ability to use a mechanical lift safely.

Ability to provide refreshments and between meal snacks as requested by residents.

Ability to conduct social and recreational activities as assigned and as scheduled.

Ability to complete housekeeping and laundry duties as assigned.

Ability to listen to resident and family/sponsor complaints and report to the Assisted Living Supervisor or Director of Nursing.

Ability to report anything unusual about residents to the Assisted Living Supervisor or Director of Nursing.

Ability to Consistently work cooperatively with residents, nurses, physicians, families/sponsors, consultant personnel and ancillary service providers.

Ability to come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.

Ability to accept assigned duties and changes in assignments in a cooperative manner.

Ability to observe all facility policies and procedures, including universal precautions, infection control, fire prevention and safety.

Ability to follow Resident's Rights policies at all times.

Ability to assume accountability for data contained in the employees' handbook.

Ability to report all unsafe/hazardous conditions to the Assisted Living Supervisor or Director of Nursing.

Ability to perform other related duties as directed by the Assisted Living Supervisor or Director of Nursing.

Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of a mechanical device):

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Must possess sight/hearing or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.

Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stabilit

Must be able to lift and move residents, equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of fifty (50) pounds.

Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.

Requirements:

  • Current Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide
  • Compliance with applicable health laws and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations.
  • Previous experience in a Long Term Care Facility preferred
  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Ability to speak read and write English.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
